My idea movest for: Shantae

Another one of my most requested characters for the smash ballot. For those of you who don’t know, Shantae is a character owned by a video game company ‘WayForward’ who debuted on the GBC. I think she would make a solid Addition to smash with a unique movest.

Ground Attacks:

Neutral Attack: Whips her hair forward 3 times as her jab combo. Moves her forward a bit.

F-tilt: Whips her hair forward once. Her iconic attack from her games.

U-tilt: A quick kick upwards. Good for starting combos.

D-tilt: Crouches while whipping her head forward. Is faster but weaker than her f-tilt.

F-Smash: Two fiery punches. Twirls while performing a right hook punch before finishing off with a straight left punch. This move is a bit similar to Link’s F-smash.

U-smash: A back flip kick. Originated from Shantae’s first game. However this isn’t the traditional back flip kick as the height of the jump when you perform the move depends on how long you charge it. It acts like a traditional back flip when uncharged, however the longer you charge it, the higher you jump and the move is at its most powerful in the air. When fully charged, opponents on the ground who are briefly hit by the attack are knocked back a bit. However, if the move hits someone in the air when fully charged, it would deal enormous knockback. The airborne opponent would hit by the attack would always get the deadliest punishment.

D-Smash: Drops a Fireball on the ground which creates an explosion to damage nearby foes. Its function is similar to Fox and Falco’s d-smash however.

Dash attack: An overhead slap. From Shantae’s first game.

Ariel Attacks:

F-air: whips her head forward to attack her opponents.

B-air: Thrusts a fiery palm behind her. Could probably be her strongest ariel attack.

U-air: An overhead punch on an airborne opponent.

N-air: The spinning attack from her first game. Hits multiple times. Similar to Mewtwo’s n-air except it does not deal electric damage.

D-air: An overhead hair whip attack. Flips forward while hitting opponents below her with her hair.

Grabs/Throws:

Grab: Grabs opponents with both hands as if she’s grabbing someone by the shirt.

Pummel: Head-butts the opponents.

F-Throw: Hits her opponents away with a fiery fist.

B-Throw: lightly tosses the opponent in the air before following up with a round house kick backwards. Hops when she performs the kick.

U-Throw: Launches the opponent in the air.

D-throw: slams a fiery fist down on the opponents head causing them to bounce of the ground like Mario’s d-throw.

Specials:

Neutral Special: Fire Ball: A move from Shantae’s games. Launches a fireball from her hands to hit an opponent. Similar to Fox’s custom 2 for his blaster.

Custom 1: Spit Fire: A move from Shantae’s games. Fires 3 fire balls at once. Weaker than the normal Fire Ball.

Custom 2: Flame Thrower: From Shantae: Risky’s Revenge. Functions like Bowser’s Neutral Special.

Side Special: Risky’s Boots: From Shantae and the Pirates Curse. Dashes forward with a blade. It’s a one hit move with powerful knockback.

Custom 1: Blinding Boots: Hits through multiple opponents but the knockback is weaker.

Custom 2: Feisty Boots: swings the blade rapidly while running to hit multiple times. However the dash is slower.

Up Special: Cannon: From Shantae and the Pirates Curse. Fires a cannon beneath you as you are hit B to jump 3 times before entering a helpless state with the cannon. The 3 jumps are small. The cannon balls fired hits the opponents.

Custom 1: Fire Ball Cannon: Launches one fire ball and you only have one jump. The jump has increased vertical height making it a better recovery move.

Custom 2: Flame Thrower Cannon: Allows vertical height as long as you hold the B button. The cannon gives out fire. Eventually the flames run out and you enter a helpless animation.

Down Special: Transformation: the transformations she uses in the games. This function is based on the Risky’s Revenge version, although it's a bit faster. Shantae Belly dances as long the B button is held. She has 3 dance moves which lead to 3 different transformations. However, she only transforms for a brief while to deal an attack before transforming back right away. The first pose is the weakest while the last one is the strongest.
Pose 1: This turns her into a monkey. The attack is similar to Luigi’s green missile except it can’t be charged.

Pose 2: This turns her into an elephant and she jumps on the ground to perform a powerful stomp.
Pose 3: This turns her into a mermaid. Hits multiple times with her tail before knocking them away with it. Similar to a rapid combo except brief and more powerful than the usual rapid combo.

Custom 1: Enhancement: The three poses don’t make her transform. Instead they power her up for 10 seconds. However, the first pose is the least efficient and the third pose is the most effective.

Custom 2: Genie Counter: The three poses are now counters. The first is weaker than the usual counter but the third one is incredibly powerful.

Final Smash: Dance through the Danger: Begins dancing in a fashion similar to the one in this link.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=gubw1U… except the song doesn’t play (the song could be part of a dlc stage for Shantae).

While her transformations emerge and begin attacking opponents. It’s a bit like Pit’s Final Smash ‘Three Sacred Treasures’.

Alternate Costumes:

WayForward already has suggestions: www.facebook.com/WayForward/ph…

Taunts:

Juggles a few fire balls before making them disappear.

Does a kick side flip before entering a battle stance with fire balls in her hands and says 'Ready!'.

Shows of a genie lamp with pride and says 'Ret-2-Go!', before putting it away.

Victory Fanfare: A remix of when Shantae beats a boss in 'Shantae and the Pirates Curse'.

Victory Poses:

Spins around in the air (a reference to when she beats a boss). She then lands and gives the camera a thumbs up.

Floats towards the ground with her Pirate hat (from Shantae and the Pirates Curse) and lands with a bow to the screen.

Kart wheels before entering a victory stance.

Attributes: Has a good combo game and her finishers are very powerful. However some of her attacks (such as a charged Up Smash unless it’s used after a d-throw) are tricky to land and her smashes have a bit of ending lag. Has fast air acceleration and is very mobile, but her up special isn’t that effective for recovering (not as bad as Ganondorf’s, Captain Falcon or Little Mac’s). Is able to crawl.

Let me know what you think of this movest.
